چکیده
As networks with mobile devices becorne commonplace, many new applications for those networks arisc, including some that require coordination among groups of mobile clients. One basic tool for implementing coordination ie reliable multicast, where delivery of a multicast message is atomic, i.e. cither all or none of the group members deliver the message. While several multicast protocols have been proposed for mobile networks, only a few works have considered reliable multicats. In this paper we present and compare two protocols besed on Two-Phase-Commit that implement reliable multicast for structured mobile networks. Protocol iAMC is a variant of protocol AMC that employs a two-level hierarchical location management scheme to locate an route messages to the mobile hosts addressed by a multicast. Although hierarchical location management is not new in the context of mobile and cellular networks, we are unaware of any other work which combines hierarchical location management with protocols fou reliable multicast. We have prototyped, simulated and evaluated both protocols using the MobiCS simulation enviromment. Our experiments indicate that despite some overhead incurred by the location management and the additional level of message redirection, iAMC is more efficient than the AMC protocol and scales well with the size of the wired network infra-structure.

Evaluation of 2-methacryloyloxyethyl phosphorylcholine (MPC) polymer-coated dressing on surgical wounds.
The ideal dressing material is bio-inert and keeps the wound site moist. It is equally important that no regenerative tissue is peeled off on the removal of the dressing. 2-Methacryloyloxyethyl phosphorylcholine (MPC) has a phospholipid polar group that mimics a biomembrane. We prepared poly [MPC-co-n-dodecyl methacrylate (DMA)] (PMD), using conventional radical polymerization with 2,2'-azobisi...
متن کاملMR-revealed myelination in the cerebral corticospinal tract as a marker for Pelizaeus-Merzbacher's disease with proteolipid protein gene duplication.
BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE Pelizaeus-Merzbacher's disease (PMD) is caused by mutations in the proteolipid protein (PLP) gene. Recent studies have shown that an increased PLP dosage, resulting from total duplication of the PLP gene, invariably causes the classic form of PMD. The purpose of this study was to compare the MR findings of PMD attributable to PLP duplication with those of PMD arising from...
متن کاملA relative position code for saccades in dorsal premotor cortex.
Spatial computations underlying the coordination of the hand and eye present formidable geometric challenges. One way for the nervous system to simplify these computations is to directly encode the relative position of the hand and the center of gaze. Neurons in the dorsal premotor cortex (PMd), which is critical for the guidance of arm-reaching movements, encode the relative position of the ha...
متن کاملShort-term biomarkers of tumor promotion in mouse skin treated with petroleum middle distillates.
Topical application of certain petroleum middle distillates (PMD) to mice produces skin tumors after long latency, and initiation/promotion protocols indicate that this effect is associated with their tumor promoting activity. Since induction of sustained, potentiated epidermal hyperplasia is predictive of promoting activity, five compositionally distinct PMD [hydrodesulfurized kerosene (API 81...
متن کامل[Investigation of lower urinary tract symptoms in urological outpatients using original IPSS plus post micturition dribble questionnaire].
OBJECTIVES At present, there are almost no report concerning post micturition dribble (PMD) in lower urinary tract symptoms (LUTS). PMD may have a negative effect on the quality of life (QOL) of afflicted patients. However, question concerning PMD are not included in the International Prostate Symptom Score (IPSS) questionnaire, and a number of questions about PMD remain to be addressed, such a...
